What is the SSC CPO Examination?
SSC CPO stands for Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. SSC CPO is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit candidates for the posts of Sub Inspector and Assistant Sub Inspector in the CISF, Delhi Police, and CAPF(Central Armed Police Forces).
The Central Police Organizations under the SSC CPO are:

● Border Security Force (BSF) Sub-Inspector
● Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Sub-Inspector
● Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sub-Inspector

Scheme of Examination
The examination will consist of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Endurance Test(PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). All these stages of the examination are mandatory.

Questions will be set in Hindi and English in Parts-I, II and III of Paper-I

Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)

For Male candidates:
1. 100 metre race in 16 seconds
2. 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
3. Long Jump: 3.65 metre in 3 chances
4. High Jump : 1.2 metre in 3 chances
5. Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metre in 3 chances

For Female candidates:
1. 100 metre race in 18 seconds
2. 800 metre race in 4 minutes
3. Long Jump: 2.7 metre in 3 chances
4. High Jump: 0.9 metre in 3 chances
Medical Examination
All the candidates who qualify in Paper-II will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade-I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary.
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2023)

Age limit for the posts is 20-25 years; i.e. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2003 to be eligible to apply.

Some relaxation in the upper age limit was given to candidates belonging to scheduled caste or scheduled tribes, other backward classes and ex-servicemen.

Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification for all posts is Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

The candidates who have appeared in their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination can also apply; however they must possess Essential Qualification on or before the cutoff date; i.e., 15.08.2023.
